2024 GCSE Examination Results Headlines

Posted on: August 23rd - 2024

Following the success of our Year 13 students last week, our Year 11 cohort achieved excellent examination results in their GCSE and vocational summer examinations. We look forward to welcoming students back to our Sixth Form and to new students joining us from other schools as they commence their Sixth Form journey on our range of A-Level, BTEC and Cambridge Technical courses.

At GCSE, 1 in 3 grades were at Grades 7-9, with 73% of students achieving at least a Grade 5 in both English and Mathematics.

We saw 12 students achieving 9 or more Grades 7-9 in their subjects. Congratulations to Anna G, Lilly S, Laura S, Alisia C, Anshika D, Evie L, Yasmin H, Dani N, Daisy W, Emily R, Zara O and Hana M.

2 students (Alisia C and Anshika D) achieved 10 Grade 9s in all their GCSE courses, which is an outstanding achievement.

Steve Whittle (Headtacher) said: “We are so proud of this group of Year 11 students and their achievements throughout their GCSE studies. The hard work they put into preparing for their exams has certainly paid off and they have been rewarded with the grades they thoroughly deserve – gaining them entry onto their chosen Sixth Form courses and into further education. I have no doubt that they would not have achieved this level of success without the unwavering support of families and school staff, especially throughout the examination period – thank you. We wish them all the very best in LPGS Sixth Form and elsewhere.
