KS5 Examination Results

Posted on: August 15th - 2024

Our class of 2024 celebrated successful examination results in this summer’s A-Level and vocational examinations and it has been great to see so many students securing their next steps on a range of university courses and in apprenticeship and employment opportunities as a result of their achievements.

At A-Level 28% of all grades achieved were A*-A, with over half of all grades at A*-B. The average grades attained on our A-Level and vocational courses were a B- grade and Distinction grade respectively and we saw a 100% pass rate on our BTEC and Cambridge Technical courses.

We saw a record number of A*-A grades achieved in recent years in public examinations with 28 students attaining an impressive 3 or more A*/A grades in their chosen courses. A special mention to the following students who achieved A*/A grades (or Distinction*/Distinction) in 3 or more of their A-Level or vocational courses: Elliot C, Emilia H, Heidi M, Rosie H, Zosia L, Anna M, Noah P, Amy S, Esther C, Eva J, Maya K, Shiloh R, Amerie S, Lillian T, Vivien U, Rachel C, Maryam E, Anna D, Alexandra G, Ella G, Michaela K, Lola D, Olivia F, Mia H, Oliver M and Alexia P.

A special mention goes to the following students who achieved A* in all their subjects:

Claire S in Business, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and History

Emily A in Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics A/S and Physics

Sarita D-H in Economics, Geography and Mathematics

Students are confirming apprenticeship positions in the coming days and weeks and as ever a large number will be preparing to take up university places.

Steve Whittle (Headtacher) said: “Congratulations to all of our Year 13 students on their success in this summer’s examinations. All at LPGS are especially proud of them and the results they have achieved as a result of their hard work over the last two years as members of the LPGS6 community. It is clear that they have demonstrated the Langley values of ambition and determination in achieving this academic success. I know that they have also developed into wonderful young people who have contributed significantly to the school and who will be missed by staff. All have very bright futures ahead of them – we wish them all the very best and very much look forward to hearing of their continued success.”
